A Great Escape

Every now and then life sneaks up on you and - bam. You’re at a loss.

Life is funny - in that, once you think you have it all figured out, she throws a rock in your tire and your rotor is grinding.

I’ve learned quickly that if you go through life assuming that everyone has the same heart you do, that you will find yourself broken hearted or worse; you’ll feel betrayed.

Does it sound familiar? Have no fear, there is a cure to forget your troubles and have the greatest memories one could imagine. Memories so great, they wash away all of the “feels” that sneak up on everyone.

Adventure.

This past weekend I packed my bags, and headed into the woods. Spending the weekend at my deer camp was the best thing I could have done. To be honest, within 20 minutes I had forgotten why the woods were calling me in the first place - and not in a bad way.

There’s something about wandering through the woods, watching a curious hound dog working the woods finding all the scents that are all around. Something special about jumping on a wheeler and going for miles and miles without running into anyone else - other than the select few people you chose to bring with you.

There is a feeling that the woods brings peace and that is soothing to the soul. It’s hard to explain exactly what it is - what the feeling is.

Spending a weekend disconnected helps you realize the things that are important.

I hope you get the chance to disconnect and reconnect all at the same time.

Love the woods? Go get lost in them.

(not literally, preferably and I am not liable if you actually get lost)
