Ultimate Guide for Man's Best Friend's Birthday

Sure, having a birthday part for your dog is a little extreme. But when your whole world revolves around your dog, is it that crazy?

Piper's First Birthday was a day I was excited for and sad for - she was 5.5 pounds when we brought her home, now take out the decimal and you have her current weight.

I made her a cake and debated on putting a candle in it or not, but figured since we trained her to wait until told to eat, she would wait for me to take out a candle.

I put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the middle of the plate, whip cream surrounding the ice cream in little dollops around the ice cream. I heated up peanut butter until it was slightly runny, and drizzled it over the ice cream and whipped cream. I grated a carrot and put the carrot shavings on top as her dog safe sprinkles.

Then added the candle, lit it, and we went on to sing happy birthday to my four legged best friend.

Piper's bow, as seen in the photo above, was made by The Reigh Bow Co.

Chelsea, the lady behind the curtain at The Reigh Bow Co, first started making stylish little bows for her daughter, and decided to open an Etsy Shop to share her creations with others. Me, not having children other than my four legged bestie, I jumped at the chance to ask her to make a bow for Piper, and so her fashionable little birthday bow was made!

She got presents for her birthday - toys that lasted 3 minutes. But my favorite items she got for her birthday are her new collar and name tag.

Piper recently ate her name tag. Yes - SHE ATE IT. Don't ask how or why, I have no idea. So she's been wandering around without a name tag for about a month, which is honestly worrisome because should she decide to go on a solo adventure, no one would know who she is.

Her new name tag is made by RoadID - a company who make custom ID tags for anything and everything. People who have medical conditions can get them made for bracelets in case of a medical emergency. Piper's new tag is flush with her collar, so unless she gets her collar off, she will not be eating her new tag.

Her new collar is made by Friendship Collar who make some of the cutest collars, but also send you a bracelet that match their collar. The best part about these collars in my opinion is they're wide collars, so when Piper is walking on her leash there is more support for her. She hates harnesses and will do anything to not wear one. So this collar is perfect for her.
