"Runnin' Down a Dream"
Since I announced that I was doing this crazy leap into blogging and podcasting, I have been asked several times, “but, why are you doing this?”
Talk about a loaded question.
The reasons are simple - I love hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Yes, there are a million other people who are like me, and enjoy the things that I do. So what makes me different?
I’m no different than the next person - I am no wiser.
The stories and experiences I have however, are different. They’re unique because they’re MY experiences. My true passion in life has always been hunting, fishing and the outdoors - those of you who know me personally know that to be true. I don’t put on a front that
I am better than the next person, or the last person.
Everyone's experiences are different - that’s why I took the crazy leap. I could have continued to talk about how I wanted to share everything with others, or I could take that leap.
It took a few pushes, from women I don’t know personally but have connected with via social media who made me jump. “If you don’t do it now, you won’t do it then.”
“If you don’t do it now, you won’t do it then”
So I quit looking for the excuses NOT to do it and started looking at HOW to do it.
Maybe I won’t go anywhere with this blog and podcast. But I can say I tried - and I will not stop doing it. Northern Tracks Outdoors is important to me, and nothing will change that. Whether my awesome grandparents are the only ones who read my posts or listen to my podcast, or 100 people tune in, I will still be right here. Just being me, and taking the leap.
What’s your dream? What is your goal? “If you don’t do it now, you won’t do it then.” Stop the excuses and chase your passion. So in the fine words of Tom Petty - I’m “runnin down a dream.”
